Product details
River sand is the fine aggregate behind almost every mortar and plaster on a Kenyan site. Washed river sand is free-draining, low in silt and organic matter, and gives mortar a smooth, workable consistency that fundis prefer for rendering and block laying.
Use it for plaster mortar (typically 1:4 to 1:6 cement:sand), block-laying mortar, screeds and fine-aggregate concrete. For structural concrete it is usually blended with ballast; for smooth plaster it can be sieved on site for an even finer finish.
